Wish List Wednesday is brought to you by Pen to Paper.
For this weekly meme I’ll be discussing with you 1 or 2 books that are currently on my wish list.
This week I’ll be talking about The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli and Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde.
Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. No matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful.
Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. If Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back.
There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker, Reid. He’s a chubby Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there’s absolutely no way Molly could fall for him.
So I was not interested in reading this book or Simon vs the Homo Sapien Agenda until recently. I was reading over some of the reviews of these books and everyone talks so highly about them. After seeing a lot of different things about them on Twitter over the weekend I decided I did actually want to read both of these books and added them to my Amazon wish list so I can keep an eye on the prices. I hope to be able to read both of these very soon.
When BFFs Charlie, Taylor and Jamie go to SupaCon, they know it’s going to be a blast. What they don’t expect is for it to change their lives forever.
Charlie likes to stand out. SupaCon is her chance to show fans she’s over her public breakup with co-star, Jason Ryan. When Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie’s long-time crush on her isn’t as one-sided as she thought.
While Charlie dodges questions about her personal life, Taylor starts asking questions about her own.
Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there’s one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with Jamie—no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about the Queen Firestone SupaFan Contest, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.
Aside from the fact that I FREAKING LOVE THIS COVER, I have seen some pretty awesome reviews of this book and that’s all the convincing I needed to be honest. I added it to my want-to-read shelf on Goodreads. I’m sure this will be an awesome read when I finally do get to it. I wish I would have gotten a eARC of it or even a physical copy because then I would have been able to read it so much sooner!!
What do you think of the books I chose to feature this week? Are they on your wish list as well or have you been lucky enough to have already read/received a copy of these? Let me know in the comments below!
