Wish List Wednesday: Barnard and Charaipotra/Clayton

Wish List Wednesday is brought to you by Pen to Paper.

For this weekly meme I’ll be discussing with you 1 or 2 books that are currently on my wish list.

This week I’ll be talking about A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard and Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton.

A Quiet Kind of Thunder

Steffi doesn’t talk, but she has so much to say.
Rhys can’t hear, but he can listen.
Their love isn’t a lightning strike, it’s the rumbling roll of thunder.

Steffi has been a selective mute for most of her life – she’s been silent for so long that she feels completely invisible. But Rhys, the new boy at school, sees her. He’s deaf, and her knowledge of basic sign language means that she’s assigned to look after him. To Rhys, it doesn’t matter that Steffi doesn’t talk, and as they find ways to communicate, Steffi finds that she does have a voice, and that she’s falling in love with the one person who makes her feel brave enough to use it.

From the bestselling author of Beautiful Broken Things comes a love story about the times when a whisper is as good as a shout.

I’ve actually never heard of this author before or this book. I ran across it will searching Goodreads for some good mental health books to read. It’s one of my favorite themes in a book. I love to read about it. This one caught my attention and I definitely want to read this one soon!

Tiny Pretty Things

Gigi, Bette, and June, three top students at an exclusive Manhattan ballet school, have seen their fair share of drama. Free-spirited new girl Gigi just wants to dance—but the very act might kill her. Privileged New Yorker Bette’s desire to escape the shadow of her ballet star sister brings out a dangerous edge in her. And perfectionist June needs to land a lead role this year or her controlling mother will put an end to her dancing dreams forever. When every dancer is both friend and foe, the girls will sacrifice, manipulate, and backstab to be the best of the best.

This is another book I have never heard of before. I ran across it on my coworkers booktube channel where she was raving about how wonderful this book is. I immediately added it to my Amazon wish list so I can keep an eye on the price. As soon as it drops, I’m going to be picking this one up. It looks so good and the second book is just as pretty as this one!

So what do you think of my picks for this week? I wish I had both of these on my Kindle right now! They both look so interesting!
