New Author Thursdays

New Author Thursday: Kresley Cole

Since I’m new to this wonderful world of book blogging, I’ve been hearing about a ton of authors that I’ve never heard of before. So I decided to start this weekly meme about authors that aren’t necessarily brand new authors, but new to me.

This week I want to talk to you about Kresley Cole

Kresley Cole is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the electrifying Immortals After Dark paranormal series, the young adult Arcana Chronicles series, the erotic Gamemakers series, and five award-winning historical romances.

A master’s grad and former athlete, she has traveled over much of the world and draws from those experiences to create her memorable characters and settings.
Her IAD books have been translated into twenty foreign languages, garnered three RITA awards, and consistently appear on the bestseller lists, in the U.S. and abroad.

Cole lives in Florida with her family and “far too many animals.” (Blurb from Goodreads)

I originally heard about Kresley Cole and her Immortals After Dark series from Kristin Cast. She began reading the series and was posting stuff on Twitter about it. Then she switched over to reading the Arcana Chronicle Series around the same time the latest book was released. Kresley Cole has many, many other books. But I need to read the Immortals After Dark series and the Arcana Chronicles series like ASAP!

I actually bought The Warlord Wants Forever (book #1) and A Hunger like No Other (book #2), but I haven’t started them yet because I’m still trying to decipher what order to read them in.

As per usual, the links take you to the Goodreads page for the book. 🙂 Btw, all of Kresley Cole’s books have a rating of 4.0+ on Goodreads! Also I thought I’d give you a little blurb from Goodreads for the first books in each of the series.

Blurb from Book #1

She could save the world-or destroy it.
Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future-and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Derveaux.

But she can’t do either alone.
With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Who can Evie trust?
As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side…

Blurb from Book #1

Every creature or being that was thought to be mythical . . . isn’t.

They all secretly exist alongside humans and enjoy the gift of immortality. There are hundreds of different kinds: from Vampires to Lykae, from Furies to Shifters, from the Fey to Valkyries.

These immortals call their world The Lore.

You may have had a brush with one of Lorekind already. The eccentric billionaire with hypnotic charisma—and an aversion to sunlight. The ethereal waif of impossible beauty—whose fingernails look more like claws. The Highlander with a seventeenth-century Scottish accent and animal magnetism—who can never be penciled in on the night of the full moon.

They walk among us, but they war among themselves. Each faction has its strengths, weaknesses, and age old prejudices against the others. Every five hundred years, the Accession, a battle for supremacy, rages. That time is now. . . .

Don’t these books/series look amazing! I didn’t know about the Trilogy, so I think I’ll start there. 4.0+ rating for every single one of her books on Goodreads?! What do you think about that? Have you read anything by Kresley Cole? If so, please share your thoughts! If not, would you give her a try?

As always, please feel free to introduce me to more authors!

Also, if you suggest authors you want me to look into and do a post for I’d be more than happy!
